I can take helmets or leave them. I prefer to leave them. I wear one when it's cold or very hot and windy or when I'm forced to. I've kissed pavement and or gravel with and without one. As far as I'm concerned it's a matter of personal choice.
What I really dislike is helmet laws. If I want to take an informed risk that's my business and the state can keep it's bureaucratic nose out of it. I urge everyone to wear a helmet or not as they choose and to fight helmet laws to the bitter end.
